There's an interesting bit of news... Taiwan fires test missle. The timing here is very poor. I don't have much in the way of an opinion on Taiwanese independance. However, it seems to me that Taiwan should at least wait until the U.S. isn't busy wasting time on Palestine and its Zionist occupiers. The people only have enough attention to focus on one thing at a time (when they can manage that), and when they don't care, the politicians won't care, and nothing will happen. Couldn't Taiwan have waited a while? If they end up needing help, which they surely might, they'd be far better off getting attention from the U.S. if the resultant conflict with China is the only thing to think about.

I've been making great strides in my doctrine of custody. It's been a topic which has caused me great difficulty in the past, but I finally feel that I have worked out how I want my values to gel into a theoretical ideal policy. Of course, I've also been enjoying myself on Sentient, the mailing list that is loosely tied to SFF, the local student-tied atheist/agnostic group. We always have such lively discussions on politics, philosophy, and everything in that sphere..

One of my friends is going through a difficult time in their life. I hope things work out for them.
