Secret pleasures

I'm going to two fun things tonight -- first, there's a Pitt professor who's going to be talking about how students lose their faith... we noted the posters two meetings ago in PUSH, so maybe a few of us will find each other there. Secondly, I'm going to a party. I'm not much of a party person, so I don't know how long I'll stay, but it'll be fun..

Speaking of which, I've dug my TMBG likings back out of the cobwebs.. Yeah, it's definitely silly music, and it doesn't engage me much emotionally, but it's not a good idea to get overloaded on emotionally engaging music, or one ends up o/~ all shook up o/~ .. Speaking of strange engagements, I have a large number of ATHF episodes on my computer now, and I'm particularly amused at certain aliens, one of which has a hippie voice, the other with an exaggerated german accent. I don't know why, but I find this absolutely hilarious.. Earlier, I joked that I'd like to have books on tape with Gilbert Gottfried's voice.. this voice would be similarly hilarious..

Oh, I finally got back in touch with Fnord, and I have the pleasure of paying $600 or so to fix the tires, the blinkenlight, and the guts of the car.. Yay. Combined with the other financial matter, and .. oh, yes, a NEW financial matter of another kind, am I ever going to actually be able to start saving money to buy a house? Or will these stupid things keep cropping up, hands outstretched to take each and every check? Oh well, at least I like my job. It's time to start signing up for classes for next semester... after I meet with a professor about a certain class, I'll know for sure what I'm taking. Lookin' good. Woo!

Oh, and finally, for those few of you who read my blog, and have expressed concern, my blog is a place for me to dump my mental state and concerns and thoughts and stuff. If I seem to be down in it, I probably actually am feeling down, or lonely, or whatever, but the relationship between what I say here, what I'm feeling, what I'll say on IM (in conversation or in my away messages), and what I'll express to you in person if you know me is all pretty complex.

o/~ I have a secret to tell From my electrical well It's a simple message And I'm leaving out the whistles and bells o/~ -- TMBG, "Birdhouse in your Soul" (incidentally, this song has a music video that's cool)
